Cleaning my figures

It's been a while since my last post. I haven't bought a single collectible since my last post but today I received notice that a couple of my orders has just been shipped out so expect new 'hauls' to come in the next few weeks.

Most collectors who knows me knew that some of my collection got submerged in the Ondoy flood 3 years ago. I have cleaned up most of them but I still have a few mini figures (around 100-200pcs) stashed in 3 boxes that were left uncleaned.

The plan to clean them all up kept getting postponed due to lack to free time and motivation, until a few months ago I discovered this hi-tech gadget:

June 2012 Hauls

Finally I had a chance to take out my DSLR in the dry cab and took reshots of my June hauls.

I always wanted to have that white Eva but the past action figure releases of Kaiyodo were hard to find.

As for Ranka Lee, it's meant to be paired with Figuarts Zero Sheryl Nome which I acquired last month.

I have no preorders this month and next month so no hauls for the next 2 months barring any impulse buys from Mandarake.

Toycon Philippines 2012 Day 2

Just sharing my photos taken during the event. I didn't brought my DSLR to the event in anticipation of the crowds. Instead, I just have my EVO 3D phone.

I used the free hosting site Phereo that offers 3D photo hosting. I first discovered Phereo via their Android app and it's been in my EVO 3D ever since.

There are many ways to view the 3D images, one is by using the red-cyan glasses, another is via 3DTV, another is via cross-eyed method and lastly, via a 3D phones like HTC EVO 3D or LG Optimus 3D.

Infrared Thermometer

Investing in tools is another hobby of mine. My recent acquisition is an Infrared Thermometer. It's shaped like a gun and you point it to the target to measure using its built-in laser. Temperature is measured instantaneously. I bought this online for about 40 USD.

Sorry for the poor images, these were taken by my phone on a poor lighting, I actually used a flashlight on those with white background. I don't have dedicated photo booth so it's a hassle to setup. I'll try to make better shots but without too much hassle.

Back from 2011

I can't believe it's more than 8 months since I last posted here. Anyways, the SDF-1 project is still on hold. The  model is still sitting on my work table covered with clear plastic. I just didn't able to find time to start painting it. Worse case, I'll just assemble it without painting and apply decal to the A.R.M.D ships and it will look exactly like the pre-assembled Yamato SDF-1 toy.

Anyways, I plan to regularly update this blog again with my other hobbies. I only wish there is an easier way to update this blog via my Android smartphone. The Blogger app isn't available to my country so I cannot see it in Google Play.

Update: I was able to download the Blogger app via direct download, that was easy...
I will check out the app after posting this.
